I’m an executive coach. My aim is to empower my clients to take ownership of their careers and unleash creativitity, confidence and innovation along the way.
Hi, I’m Gráinne McDonagh
I’ve had a varied career to date which has given me insights into different ways of working across different cultures, industries and companies.
I’ve worked in Brussels, London and Dublin, as well as travelling for work across the UK and EU. I’ve had the opportunity to work with several multinational companies, both directly and as a consultant. I also have experience working in Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, Public Sector, Financial Services and Retail sectors.
I have a UCD Smurfit Professional Diploma in Business & Executive coaching and I am an EMCC Accredited Coach at Practitioner level. I have 12 years of management consulting experience in Accenture and Capgemini and before that I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, as a design and bioprocess engineer. I have a Bachelors of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from UCD.
I live in Dublin with my husband and two kids.
What’s Fugacity?
My Approach
I like to bring in some creative techniques into coaching sessions, when I feel they might be useful. So don’t be surprised if I ask you to grab some paper and pens or a spare chair!
These are a great way to get you away from your normal way of working and try something new that perhaps engages different parts of your thinking and noticing. Every session and client is different so we can work together on what will work best for you.
I decided to call my business Fugacity (from the latin ‘Fugo’ for ‘I escape’) as a nod to my roots as a chemical engineer and because I think there’s a neat parallel with coaching.
I believe there can be an element of escape in a good coaching session. Whether it’s taking time away from your everyday life to think about bigger questions, planning your new route to a new career or challenge or stepping away from your current patterns of behaviour to try a new approach.
What escape are you looking for?
